Agree security and privacy has to be a top priority. Let me know you care about the vulnerability when hooking things together, and let me know I have control over my privacy. There’s no way I would use this without a better commitment from a company to demonstrating they’re thinking about these issues. It’s a fantastic user experience from a interaction design perspective, but there’s something troubling about the ‘sure, we’ll write this up — but trust us for now’. You’ve been around for at least a year, and this wasn’t on your to-do list?

The Internet of Shit https://twitter.com/internetofshit?lang=en) should be a required reading in how it documents story after story of the failure to see what happens when devices are connected and we don’t design for when something goes wrong. Start preparing for that future as well as the shiny connected one you’re creating for users on the Web site.
