My experience in mainland Europe has been very positive. I’ve been to more than 8 European countries over 3 years and haven’t had any trouble at the border answering questions in complete honesty. In comparison, I have had trouble both of the two times I visited the UK.

Mainland Europe has its own dislike of The Other, but it’s likely my white American privilege shields me from the brunt of it.
