Life Map

I made a decision that opened a door — a Maserati Ghibli car door that is — for my birthday weekend in October 2015. I never thought it’d open, but because I followed through on an idea I had, and I got to drive the car.

2016, has been ALL about developing how I am driving the direction of decisions. I’ve taken on more defined responsibility, but with my intentional Life Map. I’m giving myself the education and credit that I’ve wanted and deserve. I’ve found my “community” and identifying the “commonality.”

Have you mapped or planned out WHY your community (those you surround yourself by) looks the way it does? Who is in it? What do the people in it do for you?

Who are you following online and talk to in-person daily, monthly, weekly?

You have a choice. Every day. Who do you allow yourself to listen to?

Make that list, mentally or write it out. It’s up to you.

It’s taken me 19 job changes to learn my purpose in life, and here’s what I’ve learned. Every moment has a lesson, and until you learn it, you’re not moving forward. So figure out what it is you need, and listen to your instincts because your next move can happen at any moment.” — Mel Robbins

I discovered Mel Robbins because I was searching for a motivational speech while I was at work in May 2015. I unintentionally picked a video of hers that had one million views at the time. It’s called How to Stop Screwing Yourself Over. The Maserati Ghibli happening comes in where she talks about the 5-Second Rule, and long story short, your brain pulls an emergency brake within five seconds of you having an idea if you don’t take action to make that thing you just thought of a reality. I wanted to drive the car around for just one day. I was give an entire weekend because I was brave enough to ask. If you think about something too much, what’s the likelihood of it happening?

I’ve been intentional with my Life Map since October 2015 in regards to who I’m letting in and allowing to be an influence in my every day decisions.

Some days the ROI of what I’m doing is about AS CLEAR AS MUD, but the value of what I’m creating for my direction is getting clearer.

Surround yourself by amazing people who DO STUFF and the muddy waters will clear just in time for more muddy waters. I’ve figured out that the muddy waters should never clear. Why? You’ll get bored. So, what’s next?

Stand, but don’t stay in the middle,
