12 Maps in 12 Months

The Interactive Web Map I made for The National Map Corps

One of my new years resolutions is to create 12 maps in 12 months, with two of those maps being interactive or dynamic maps that will allow me to hone my coding skills in addition to my cartography skills.

At the end of every quater (March, June, September and December) I will showcase all three maps I’ve worked on and provide a brief introduction what the following quater will consist of for this mapping project.

My map list for the first quater (January- March) is as follows:

  1. Droughts Throughout the Western U.S
  2. Droughts to Wildfires: How the lack of water impacts the severity of wildfires.
  3. Droughts → Wildfires →Floods: How Interconnected Disasters Impact Flood Prone Zones Throughout the Western U.S.

I want 2018 to be a year for growing my coding and cartography skills. I hope that by making 12 maps for 12 months I will see a significant growth in both of these areas. Ill post an update of the drought map on January 19th 2018.

Also, feel free to leave a comment about any skills you hope to develop and build in 2018!

Happy Mapping!
