Damon Albarn dies at age 47
Damon Albarn best known for his 1990’s pop band Blur died aged 47 on Saturday after being struck by a suspected drunken driver in Essex, England.
Damon Albarn, known by his multiple bands and solos, was pronounced dead at the scene of the early morning accident.
He was sitting with a woman in his friends car (Dave Rowntree) parked Honda Civic on a shoulder of Middlebush Essex Road about 6:20 am when a pickup slammed into the vehicle, authorities said.

Albarn’s sedan rolled over onto an embankment above the road. The side passenger was taken to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.
The pickup flipped and struck another parked vehicle with two people inside, but they were not injured.
The driver of the pickup was identified as 34-year-old Philip Torres II and he was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.
