Rachel Tobin — Yale Grad
Rachel Tobin is a teaching professional and the founder of Nao Now Tutoring LLC. She has more than ten years of tutoring experience, including tutoring the SAT, ACT, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, and English.
Rachel is originally from Los Angeles where he studied at the Marlborough School, and graduated high school as class Valedictorian. She then attended Yale University and graduated with a BS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. While she was in New Haven, she participated in a variety of teaching and tutoring programs, and conducted research at the Yale Stem Cell Center.
Rachel was the Co-President of her class at Yale, where she planned events for 1,300 students, led council meetings, and orchestrated constant communication between students and the administration. In 2015, she delivered the Yale Class Day Welcoming Address in front of 15,000 people alongside Joe Biden.
After graduating from Yale, Rachel returned to Los Angeles and began work as a 2nd-6th grade science teacher in Koreatown. There, she developed a new, rigorous science curriculum for each grade level, with a hands-on experimental focus. She was one of three teachers selected to serve on the Head of School Search Committee, as well as serving on the Theme Committee and facilitating the Student Leadership Program. She also taught After School Enrichment classes and tutored math, science, writing, and test prep.
In 2018, Rachel founded Nao Now, a tutoring company that teaches English through innovative cultural subjects. Nao Now’s approach uses contemporary pop culture and STEM topics to prepare students for the classroom and standardized tests, as well as to improve their conversational skills and cultural connectivity. Students explore topics that teach them about American culture while they develop confidence, critical thinking skills, and creativity.
In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time outdoors backpacking, playing soccer, swimming, and running.
