Week One (how is it going by so quickly??)

I’ve been here for almost a week, but it seems in a way that I have been here for a year. I am pretty settled in my apartment (except that I still don’t completely know how to buy food my myself in Greek and therefore making meals is fairly difficult) and pretty much know my way around my neighborhood. Obviously I still have things to learn and do (I’ve only been here for a week, so if I didn’t that would be a problem). I am still making friends, figuring out the good places to eat, and attempting how to not look like a tourist. But overall, life in Athens is amazing! Falling asleep every night to the sound of the city traffic has become my new normal.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday was mostly orientation-type stuff. We sat through a lot of talks given by administration, went on a walking tour of the neighborhood, and ate good food. During breaks, I explored the streets, met new people, and watched some amazing sunsets over the Acropolis!

This evening, we got back from an overnight trip to Delphi, which is north-west of Athens. Pictures below.

On the way to Delphi, we stopped and toured a monestary, which was beautiful.
Today and yesterday, we went to ruins from Greek gods with temples and statues.
