On Becoming Anti-Bernie
Robin Alperstein

I am a reporter, so at first glance this seamed like a well written article, then I did my own research to see if the facts you stated are true. Unfortunately that is were your 10,000+ word paper falls apart. Lets take paragraph 5 as an example, were Robin Alperstein states “I concluded that the fact that Sanders only got three bills through Congress (two of which were for naming post offices)” The facts you chose are not accurate, and don’t back up your claim. Yes he had sole sponsorship of 3 bills that became law, but the part you are leaving out is the 203 co-sponsored bills that also became law https://www.congress.gov/member/bernard-sanders/S000033?q={%22bill-status%22%3A%22law%22}. See in congress the bills that actually get passed the majority of the time are co-sponsored bills, and when you add your name to a bill it is added in order of your sponsorship of that bill. Bill S.2258 “Veterans’ Compensation Cost of Living Adjustment Act of 2014” is a perfect example of this, it became law 9/26/2014, it was first introduced and co-sponsored 4/28/2014. First name on the list of co-sponsors, Bernie Sanders https://www.congress.gov/bill/113th-congress/senate-bill/2258/cosponsors. So when you look a little deeper and you fact check this paper, Robin Alperstein’s statements just don’t add up. They are not based on the facts.
