Radar Launches Radar New Directors

Radar are very excited to announce our brand new awards event, Radar New Directors.

Celebrating the best in new director talent we are taking ownership of this exciting and innovative sector of the music video industry by celebrating the talent and creativity new directors are bringing to the game and helping them push their careers to new heights.

To be held at the super cool YouTube Spaces in London, the awards will take place in June 2016. Early Bird entry is open now. See below for details on how to apply.

You probably know we like innovating and we’ve got a very innovative venue — the awards will be held at London’s YouTube studios in June 2016 — the first music video awards event held at YouTube.

Judges and prizes are both TBC as we’re still in discussions, but they’ll be prestigious and they’ll be about some serious career advancement.

Call for entries deadlines:

Early bird until 17th January 2016 £15 / $23 / E21
Regular until 17th April 2016 £20 / $30 / E28
Late until 15th May 2016 £25 / $38 / E35

Categories
Directors can enter each video to a maximum of two categories, plus the Radar entry if it’s a Radar-commissioned video.
- Best concept / narrative arc
- Best character / location
- Best technical/craft: outstanding in one of cinematography / lighting / art dept / glam (make-up/styling/costume) / editing / other
- Best animation / VFX
- Best online campaign content, incl lyric videos
- Best Radar-commissioned video (not counted in the category allowances)

Eligibility
To ensure we’re picking up the best talent on our radar (ahem), directors can’t be signed to a ‘mainstream’ production company.
