How to calm down an always anxious mind ?

In today’s world anxiety is becoming a common phenomenon. There are many things which can trigger anxiety like comparison with others, keeping up with the fast paced world, looks, racing for money.

Coming from a person whose anxiety gets triggered even with the slightest of incidents, following are easy and simple ways to calm down an always anxious mind

  • Acceptance. – First and foremost step is to accept the feeling of anxiety and cause of it.
  • Post acceptance and finding out the cause of anxiety, next step is to decide is it something you can control ?
  • If you can control , next step is start acting rather than thinking. If the cause of anxiety is something which is not under control, then it’s better to explain mind and have faith and leave to higher powers.
  • Everything is in mind. If you can think you can do.

Above were the steps to do incase anxiety gets triggered. However there are few things which can be done to have a calm mind

  • Follow a routine
  • Get up in the morning and get an adrenaline rush in the body. It’s helps in avoid early morning over thinking. It can be simple thing like walking or going to gym
  • Whenever thoughts triggering anxiety crosses mind, get your mind occupied in some other work. If you are around people best thing is to engage ok conversations with others to keep over thinking at bay
  • Always be positive towards life. Just remember , as you sow , so shall you reap.
  • Before sleeping , take shower . It helps in relaxing body and mind. If not shower , wash your feet.
  • You can also drink herbal teas before sleeping or can have golden Indian milk
