A WiFi repeater or extender is used to extend the coverage area of your domestic WiFi network. It receives the existing WiFi signal of your WiFi network, amplifies it and then transmits a new WiFi signal where client devices can connect to. With a WiFi repeater people can effectively double the coverage area of the WiFi network so to reach remote corners of the house or even different floors.

Radiomaze Motion Detection algorithms can run into conventional repeaters such as TP-LINK, D-LINK, or any WiFi mesh solution proposed on the market. An example is given by the solution embedded into TP-LINK TL-MR3040.

By embedding Radiomaze Motion Detection Solution into it, this conventional WiFi repeater is indeed transformed into a motion detector for your home, triggering alerts if unexpected intrusions are detected.

RADIOMAZE technology is completely agnostic and able to be adopted in a plethora of devices, running directly into the cloud or even in the devices themselves.

The approach, patented since 2012, exploits the phenomenon of absorbtion, reflection, and scattering caused by obstacles of WiFi radiowaves. Since human beings are no different, being electromagnetically large bags of water, Radiomaze Motion Detection is able to detect when a person is walking by a monitored area covered by domestic WiFi and trigger a notification.

By combining the system with third party services, such as IFTTT, Radiomaze paves the way to new interesting and untapped applications spanning from Home Automation to Behavioural Analytics.
