What I would say is: applying first order logic should not be that difficult.

In that context, it would be easy to prove that:

NOT (“kids are the most important thing”) is not a rebuttal of (“kids are very important”).

You would find a lot more people to agree with the statement:

“Kids are very important but not the most important”

than with the statement

“Kids are not important”.
