Though, I didn’t quite get the part with:

Now, look, I thought it might be the other way around but I may be wrong. I frequently am. :)
I’d have thought that principles controls actions, and the actions determine the outcomes.
For example, let’s say if someone decides that their #1 principle is helping others no matter what, then they would daily undertake the actions that enable them to do that and they would also react (still an action) with that principle in mind, which would eventually result in the desired outcomes.
