When Is It Okay To Be Selfish For Better Health and Body?

Most of us do not know ourselves or how long we will stick to the plans we have made for ourselves. There is always a possibility that something will pop up and we will use it as an excuse to not stick to our promises. But, when you choose to go to the gym over going out with your friends, you gain more confidence in yourself, and in your promise, of course.

Getting in the peak of health isn’t supposed to be a painful process, but it is indeed challenging. Surprisingly, people who make it challenging are often the people we love the most; our family and friends. That is when the promises you made to yourself regarding your diet plans and workout schedules for fat loss are broken. However, if you want not to break those promises, you would need to be selfish.

You might not count yourself as a ‘selfish’ type, but sometimes we need to do a bit bad thing seeing the bigger picture of our lives, and being selfish would be a small price to attain absolute health, fitness and perfect body.

Following are some of the most prominent benefits of being a healthy selfish:

· You keep your promise, and take a step forward toward your goal- That is a very important benefit of being selfish about your fat loss regime. When you say no to the people you love for keeping your promise, your commitment gets more strength, which will help you escape from all the excuses that could have disturbed your fitness schedule and workout plans in future.

· You gain more confidence in yourself- Most of us do not know ourselves or how long we will stick to the plans we have made for ourselves. There is always a possibility that something will pop up and we will use it as an excuse to not stick to our promises. But, when you choose to go to the gym over going out with your friends, you gain more confidence in yourself, and in your promise, of course. This gained confidence fuels you all the time, and makes you get maximum benefits from your commitment to yourself

· The ‘selfishness’ signals your friends and family about your seriousness towards your goals- The people who love us, know us probably even better than we know ourselves. With even slight of a change in our behavior, they will spot the difference, which if sustained for some time, will make them understand about your dedication towards your commitments.

Other than these, there are many other points that could have been enlisted, but more than knowing anything what you must know is that this so-called ‘selfishness’ is a very positive gesture, which will do no harm but good. Consider it as a little price you pay today to achieve something very important tomorrow. So, go ahead and get little selfish.
