Dependence of the Holy Spirit

“Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13:11‬

The verse above was Jesus` advice to His disciples before He goes to the cross. He was giving them direction concerning the following days and teaching them to depend on the Holy Spirit.

For many times I struggled thinking that I do not have enough knowledge or not knowing what to say in some situations. Because of that, I lost opportunities of doing good. But God, in all His goodness and mercy, started to work on my heart until I realized how arrogant this thought was.

In John 14:26, Jesus said:

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

What does the Holy Spirit do? He teaches us all things and remind us what Jesus said. It means that we should study the Scriptures ( you cannot remember something that you never saw, listen or read!) — this is our role. Besides that, we should have faith and depend on Him to bring revelation to our heart — teaching us concerning all things, and making us remember His teachings.

I’m talking about dependence! We are just vases — the recipients that carry the Holy Spirit. When we understand that and also the fact that He is the One who fills us and use us, we give Him the ALL the glory. It is not in our strength or knowledge. With Him all things are possible!

BTW, it is ok if you can`t answer all the questions of this world. Understanding that brings peace to our hearts.

Do you want knowledge, revelation and wisdom? Ask God! He is the source. It is amazing to depend on the God who knows ALL THINGS!

A single golf clap? Or a long standing ovation?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
