Let’s Stop Pretending Christianity is Actually Relevant, Okay?
Benjamin Sledge

Be careful in romanticizing religions other than Christianity.

As I read the comment in this link by user areyousaying in this link:

I found their comment:

Abrahamic religions are equally dangerous in their zeal to:- mutliate babies by male and/or female circumcision- support of capital punishment, torture and pre-emptive attacks- homophobia- discrimination and intolerance of those different- hiding criminals and perverts among their clergy- praying to their respective small and shallow god in a box to smite others- thinking their cherry-picked scriptures justify their political and social agendas

Don’t get me wrong, as a person born in one of these Abrahamic religions, I also saw the flaws of it as a teenager in university.

However, I see the foundation of European, North and South American, Persian, Middle Eastern and North African society in there. Even if some abandoned the religious foundations, a certain component of family laws remain in these societies. Laws can change, but legal systems are different. Some do not even have the separation of religion and state. In this respect, how can you say that it is becoming irrelevant in other parts of the world?
