The planets signify you should… GO FAR FAR AWAY AND FUCK YOURSELF!
Why Astrology, Tarots, Psychs and similar bullshit is still ongoing today
OK, I admit the post title is very self explanatory and already stated the point of discussion today. WTF is going on here? Year 2016, and at least 25% of the Western world still believes in the influence of Astrology, Tarots and Psychs. As well as other pseudoscience crap, which of course for my own mental health I prefer not to discuss all at once.
What will I sure do is firstly state what a pseudoscience is, and please, don’t let the word science in it fool you for a second, pleaaase!!! And later, I’ll just eject my well cultivated swearing vocabulary on those bastards, who make real amounts of money on hopeless individuals whom are desperate enough into paying for quick magic to solve their problems.
Pseudosciences duuude! — Well Rafiki, if it contains the word science, it must be similar in a kind of way right? Short answer: NO. Long answer: SIMPLE FUCKING NO! It’s the term given to describe any field of study which is scoped under “scientific” reasoning, whatever these might be, but of course, the OBJECTIVE TRUTH is that any of this crap is based on truly science-backed arguments.
Astrologers that even claim posses a deep understanding of Astrophysics in order to “read” planetary positions, is just a fucking lie!
As you’ll know, or now will, any field in order to be considered a Science for its own, must be based on empirical observations, testable explanations and follow some careful procedures of reasoning. Following the scientific method, we must endorse the process of Observation -> Hypothesis -> Test Predictions -> Theory Development, rewarding us with a beautiful field of study that is solely based on accountable facts and proven arguments to which we can devote ourselves and continue the search for more and more questions.
Any topic which doesn’t meet or take into account these procedures, is NOT a science. And therefore, Astrologers that even claim posses a deep understanding of Astrophysics in order to “read” planetary positions, is just a fucking lie! Or at least, an outrageously biased knowledge on what will best suit their selling points, ignoring what will not confirm their shitty fuss. Why am I saying this? Because for a start, any Joe that knows its minimum on our observable universe, will acknowledge that the Zodiac Calendar created many years ago, commonly — and sadly — attributed to your own personality traits and destiny, had a totally different arrangement of planetary bodies as of today. Soooooo… it’s even wrongly based upon wrong beliefs. Too much wrongness and haven’t even began, and I will not even proceed to disprove every single incoherence present in all this complete nonsense, being quite easy though, but just exhausting. Hope you are intelligent enough to not believe in magical traits, planetary destiny or hidden forces that even our most mind blowing technology today or any of our greatest scientific minds in our recent history haven’t even had a chance to feel. [And don’t get me started with large scale conspiratorial theories dude]
The main issue here is that we as humans tend to be quite foolish now and then, and still believe in the wonders of the unknown to solve our problems instantly, and most importantly, without any effort from our side. Hey, it’s the power of the force Luke, I mean Joe! Don’t question it, it just works without battle!
Often prosecuted by the Government or Scientific community because it’s just too fucking awesome
All of these spokesman will certainly try and convince everybody that their “career” and powers as if real X-Men were among us, are worth the money because this thing is fucking real. Real as Physics, Chemistry or Biology. And all wonderfully packed under a scientific shield that mixes actual facts, like planetary rotations, with fiction shit like your birth date will determine your daily fate. And of course, all this is invisible to the common mortal and often prosecuted by the Government or Scientific community because it’s just too fucking awesome — Come on dude… REALLY?!?
The fact that this shit is still present on the media, just makes the ignorant have a lie on which to rely on to solve their problems
And what about newspaper horoscopes… they are quite enjoying Rafiki. I don’t believe in such crap, but they give me a smile every once in a while. Sure Joe, although to read “Be careful at work”, “Something good will happen this month” or “You’ll face new challenges this week”, you can find it in any ‘powerless’ fortune cookie at your local Chinese, be spoken by Siri every morning when you wake up, or your grandma at every Christmas holiday. The fact that this shit is still present on the media, just makes the ignorant have a lie on which to rely on to solve their problems (which will surely not end), and someone on the other side ready to excrete their fabricated speech in exchange for some good money.
And here I’m really really pissed of! — Don’t know why, but a constant image of Donald Trump as an Astrologer comes to mind every single time. Is this because these kind of wish-they-were-joke people have something in common? — But seriously, do you know exactly how much money these kind of ‘pseudojokes’ make everyday? I do not, but I’m pretty sure is fucking huge. And at the cost of what? Not what, whom… Millions of people are wasting their money and giving it to plain scammers. People without guts that make their living on naive individuals that don’t know better and deliver all their trust, and money, always money, in these meaningless charlatans.
Never mix Correlation with Causation! Although they told you you were going to have a good day by “reading” your cards or Venus and Mars said so, and then you find a 10$ bill on the ground… well… just please… General predictions like those are well prone to happen, just conclude properly yourself and don’t let your destiny in hands of simple NOTHING. Work for your own future dammit!
Aaand to conclude, I would just like to deliver an open question to think about:
- How conventional advertising must comply with some very strict “truth” standards, it’s of course a good thing, but if a guy dressed in a bath robe, countless beads hanging down its neck and numerous superbowl-style rings as if Mr T was their stylist while speaking about the hidden forces of the stars is just OK? It`s OK???? Hey, and they even charge swindling sums of money for the “service”…
Dear authorities, please, will you ever do something? Or we should continue to have millions of our people believing in lies. Wasting their precious time. Wasting their hardly earned money…
Thank you and best regards.
