I can definitely relate.

When I was freelancing full time I found the lack of forced human interaction/community surprisingly soul crushing.

I am one of the many freelancers to have turned in the freedom card, and now I work a normal job at a digital marketing agency, (with the goal of using the experience and connections I make to either start my own agency or simply freelance).

When I was making a living freelancing, I was doing incredibly unfulfilling work, and that’s how I felt about it and introduced it to other people. (I wrote listicles and how-to articles about WordPress, something I had lost most interest in about 50 articles before I jumped in and tried to go full-time).

What I don’t get about freelancing is people who glorify being their own boss to the point that they find meaning in just that.

I met people who did even less fulfilling work who were almost boastful about what they were doing, just because it was freelance.

There are definitely upsides to freelancing, but at the end of the day, I feel like you get many of the same negatives as having a “real job”. You are responsible to your clients, you have deadlines, your job description involves things that your probably would rather not do. (For me, sales, client calls, meetings, etc.)

Hang in there!
