Hi David,

Thanks for your response. From what I understand, much of the Pokemon games were aimed at statistical competitiveness- creating Pokemon that would be superior in battle based on a variety of strategies and techniques (which I find really interesting). I wanted to treat PokemonGo as a standalone because from my perspective, it was introduced to the a segment of the population that didn’t have experience with the universe or the previous games thanks to the accessibility of mobile phones.

Honestly, there is nothing wrong with a battle heavy game — not every game needs to be a feel good hug or learning experience. In my own opinion, after playing the game for two weeks I simply saw an opportunity for a more interesting user experience, and wanted to explore that concept a little further. I appreciate your comment!
