Short, but eventful week…

Neighbourhood call centre CRM review & feedback session

  • With our delivery manager away, I scheduled some time for the design team to review and give feedback on the designs and codes. This will be replicated with stakeholders when everyone is back from leave.

Learnings

  • It can be easy, and (I’m definitely guilty of it) to hide designs away until it’s ready. Either to avoid critique or more importantly scope creep. However, showing (sprint review) achievements regularly can really increase enthusiasm and improve our work.

Pipeline project update and wireframes

  • This week we discussed the user testing feedback and next steps for the pipeline project.

Having been part of the testing, I was really pleased to see that Lydia (rainmaker solutions) included quotes in the feedback from the actual users. I spent the rest of the week creating wireframes that meets these users need. It reminded me of this great article by Joseph Giacomin, where he states that: “Today’s human centered designer is a relatively transparent figure who does not impose preferences on a project, but who instead stimulates, conveys and translates the will of the people”. Great read!

We registered for IDEO’s Introduction to Human Centered Design course

  • In an attempt to teach colleague how to apply the human centered design to their services, I recently posted this IDEO online workshop on Google+.

I’m exciting to see that a few people have already signed up for it, and I look forward to all the new skills/confidence we will gain. Did I mention that it’s free..

Long-weekend break in Venice

  • I was so happy to spend the weekend and everyone’s favourite day (Monday) in Venice. I had loads of carbs, and gelato =) My food satisfaction was cut short when I decided to weigh myself at the airport on the way back 😒

But Venice is still beautiful…
