TMP Day3: GhostTalk is perfectly feasible.
After talking today to one of my seniors Areeb Jamal today, who BTW is a great programmer and one of the people whom I consider to be an expert on the matter of everything, I felt that GhostTalk can be a reality soon. He acknowledged that the idea was indeed interesting and feasible and that the current market currently lacks anything of that kind. His words as he spoke made me believe that what I am building right now is completely worth a shot. I felt motivated. ;-)
The difficult thing here, according to him is the Database Management and Schema Design. Indeed, one of the most important things when designing a social network. I will need to study and research reddit and networks more thoroughly.
Also, one of the things I find daunting is content moderation. But luckily, I have had a glance of Hotness Algorithm used by reddit — More research about it is yet to come, but from the first looks of it, it seems perfect.
Yay! :-)
Security and Anonymity
For user to be anonymous in true terms, we need to ensure that we do not store any user data (other than what he uploads) and that that the user stands untracked. One of the solutions that comes to my mind is to power the backend with an os designed specifically for security and uses tor internally to manage the network, like parrot OS, etc. but we need more advice on this to be sure on this though. Areeb is going to give a talk tomorrow on OSS, I look forward to his advice on the subject.
