Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for facilitation of customer services for the benefit and convenience of all ‘GoSmart’ Metro travellers presently using the Metro services between Transport Nagar and Charbagh.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Shri Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, LMRC, Shri Mahendra Kumar, Director (Rolling Stock & Systems), LMRC, Shri Ajai Kant Rastogi, Director (Finance)/LMRC and Shri Satish Kumar, Principal General Manager, BSNL, Shri Karuna Raman Tiwari, General Manager, BSNL, along with other senior officers from both the organisations at the administrative headquarters of Lucknow Metro wherein both the parties exchanged the documents on the occasion.
“This is a big step towards the facilitation of customer services where the GoSmart card of Lucknow Metro shall be used for the payment of BSNL post-paid mobile bills along with the purchase of pre-paid products at the Ticket Office Machine (TOM) counters at all the Metro stations”, Shri Kumar Keshav, MD/LMRC, said on the occasion.
Speaking at the function, Shri Satish Kumar, Principal General Manager, BSNL, said “the objective of this MoU is to create a cooperation between two Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) to offer each other’s existing as well as future services, utilizing each one’s infrastructure for the benefit of customers using the Metro services as well as the BSNL communication network”.
This MOU is intended to recognize the general basis for a cooperative and collaborative working relationship between the two parties in order to develop a special businessrelationship to fulfil each other’s requirements in the city of Lucknow.
Through this mutual relationship, BSNL will avail the smart card services offered by LMRC for collection of bills of post-paid services of BSNL & sale of pre-paid products like recharge vouchers & electronic top-up at LMRC station counters. For the purpose of sale of prepaid products, LMRC station counters or point of sale will be considered to be operationally at par with BSNL’s own Customer Service Centres.
