I *could* take the high road and say that, while you make a good point, most of ES5 actually carries over to ES6 which really is just a few (and then some more) extensions and changes on top if it, making ES5 mostly NOT OBSOLETE.

I’m not taking the high road, though.

“Oh, still defending old ES6 while ES7 is on the rise and widely supported by Babel/etc.? : D If you aren’t thinking in SIMD already for the best possible performance (despite it having almost no coverage so far), you are basically a dinosaur!”
