Bangkok

A poem for a place I know x

I can smell the scent of freshly mown lawn
And see the ripe mangos hanging from the mango tree
I laugh and squeal as Felix comes bounding out of the house
And runs straight towards the sprinkler
The sprinkler forms crystal arcs
And the water tumbles with a tinkling sound
Felix weaves in and out of the ribbons
Trying but failing to gulp all the water
I play and dance with Felix
At one point Mummy materialises with her camera
And she films our fun for a moment
The sun is glowing and radiant on my back as I play the afternoon away
When I started the garden was deep velvet green
Now it is a muddy pond
As I trudge inside my legs ache but I don’t care
Because waiting for me is steaming plate of Kao Phad Sapparod
