Rain

I wish it would rain all day;
the air will stay refreshing
and my hair would stay straight.

If it did rain all day, I
would watch the water spill
onto the thoroughfare.

I would watch it
create indentations on surfaces
and then smooth over again as more rain falls.

I would watch it collect
at the base of my window
and then fall at a uniform rhythm
creating a beat.

The voice of thunder, deep and formidable.
The flash of lightening, the spotlight on the stage.
The roll of the shadowy clouds, a backdrop
and the murky sky setting the scene.

And I would watch it out my window,
my tension would ease
all my pain an worries
flowing away with the fluid down the drains.
