WWE Superstar Shake up Predictions

This past Monday night on Raw, WWE chairman Mr. McMahon announced there would be a “superstar shake up.”

We can assume that this would be very similar to the draft, therefore everybody is eligible to be moved from SmackDown Live to Raw, or vice versa, maybe even another couple NXT call-ups.

So here are 5 predictions for each brand for next Monday’s WWE superstar shake up.

#1 pick to Raw

Dean Ambrose

Ambrose has been a little stale on Tuesday nights. Many people were shocked after he retained his I.C championship at WrestleMania. To be blunt, the Lunatic Fringe hasn’t been very exciting for a very long time. His feuds with the likes of A.J Styles, Dolph Ziggler and The Miz have all been okay, but for the most part, the latter are the ones who carried most of it. It seems as if all 3 original members of the Shield were meant to be heels. Although Rollins has been doing a fine job as a babyface, Reigns and Ambrose might need to flip to expose fans to different sides of rather boring characters. Besides, after finishing up his feud with Corbin this past Tuesday, it seems as if there is no one left to fight on SmackDown. And now with the apparent A.J Styles face turn on the horizon, theres only room for one top baby face on Tuesday nights. Ambrose and the I.C championship are heading over to Raw.

#1 pick to SmackDown Live

Kevin Owens

With the I.C championship gone to Raw, G.M Daniel Bryan will need another champion to make it’s way to the blue brand. The U.S champ Kevin Owens may be the perfect fit. Owens has done a stellar job ever since arriving to the main roster in 2015. He is one of the greatest heels in the company, and for good reason. Can you imagine K.O up against, A.J Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura? Owens is coming off a fantastic feud with Chris Jericho, who if rumours are correct, will be leaving the company to tour with his band Fozzy. Owens could bring some real legitimacy to the U.S championship, something that’s been lacklustre ever since Cena lost the title to Alberto Del Rio. Although may seem unlikely, the balance between two championships on each show may persuade the WWE to send K.O to SmackDown.

#2 pick to Raw

The Miz and Maryse

Miz is fresh of his hottest run ever since joining the WWE. Arguably even better than when he won the WWE championship and main evented a WrestleMania. Not to mention, Maryse has added so much more flare to a superstar with already so much charisma. A.J Styles may have built the house, but The Miz definitely helped. Ever since the brand split last summer, Miz has made SmackDown T.V must watch on a weekly occurrence. The John Cena proposal at WrestleMania was a cool moment, but with The Miz being as hot as is he is at this very moment — we wish he could’ve won. Let’s see if he goes to Monday Nights to become a top villain there.

#2 pick to SmackDown Live

The New Day

The New Day have been doing their thing for a very long time now. That gimmick has turned 3 fantastic workers — but truth be told not hall of famers, into future hall of famers. They’ve accomplished everything there is to do on Raw, and now it’s time to set there eyes on the blue side. Although some people may argue, The New Day might break up now that there isn’t a lot for them to do, but a run on SmackDown may give them a few more feuds before a turn of any kind happens. The New Day can definitely breathe some life into the SmackDown tag division which has been stale despite having lots of talent. I was happy to see the Revival debut on Raw last week, as it made more sense to put them on a show with a thriving tag division, and bring over New Day to help stabilize SmackDown’s.

#3 pick to Raw

Becky Lynch

courtesy of WWE

The Women’s division on Raw is better than the current SmackDown one. Lynch has been a great superstar since being called up to the main roster last year, but it’s time for one of the top baby faces on the women’s roster to go red. Lynch has potential for better feuds on the red side. More women wrestlers, mean more storylines opportunities which don’t necessarily mean always battling for the title.

#3 pick to SmackDown Live

Charlotte Flair

courtesy of WWE

Charlotte has done a phenomenal job representing the women of the WWE on Raw. Now, it appears it’s time for her to do the same on SmackDown. Her matches against Sasha Banks and Bayley have been terrific, and she has proven her self to be the best female performer on the roster. Although it seems as if seeds are being planted for a Sasha Banks heel turn, which would probably see her as the top heel in the women’s division on Raw. With Nia Jax and possibly Sasha both on Raw, a trade-off between top face and top heel may be needed.

#4 pick to Raw

Mojo Rawley

courtesy of WWE

The 2017 winner of the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal may be on his way to Raw. After getting help from the Gronk to toss out Jinder Mahal and win the AGMBR at Mania, perhaps Jinder Mahal may take that opportunity to show Rawley who is boss? It may be a starting of a minor feud, but him going to Raw could be the beginning of better storylines for Rawley, especially with the first one available in plain sight.

#4 pick to SmackDown Live

Rusev and Lana

After losing out on the “it” couple, Miz and Maryse, the SmackDown locker room may gain another powerful duo. Rusev has become one of the most fun guys to boo at WWE shows. His character is marketed as a genuine bad ass, and he always finds a way to generate heat from the crowd. After losing out on one of SmackDowns top heel in The Miz, Rusev may be moving to Tuesday nights.

#5 pick to Raw

Luke Harper

With Bray Wyatt and Eric Rowan both on SmackDown, there might not be much of a chance for Luke Harper to do much of his own thing. In order for perhaps the Wyatt family’s best wrestler to succeed, a trade to Monday night Raw may be necessary.

#5 pick to SmackDown Live

Sami Zayn

And finally, Sami Zayn. A man who probably should’ve been part of the blue brand from the original split. Although Sami Zayn had a pretty good run on Raw, there always seemed like there wasn’t a legitimate chance for him to thrive there due to the excess talent on that show. Zayn coming over to Tuesday nights may give him a better chance to be in better storylines, fight for championships, and give fans the chance to cheer for the ultimate under dog in “the land of opportunity”.
