Happy Deepavali! Day 1 and trust you are all celebrating the festival of lights in your own ways. Welcome to day 1 all the more so as Deepavali is the festival of welcoming. It is a day when we open our doors to welcome loved guests and our metaphysical doors to welcome Lakshmi, the goddess of abundance and prosperity. Wishing you all seasons of prosperity and abundance. I enjoy word play and love the dance within abun-dance. Perhaps life reveals abundance when we dance, play and enjoy the journey. treating every moment in the journey as the destination. We have already arrived. An excerpt from the poem “Salutation to the Dawn” by the Sanskrit dramatist and poet Kalidasa completes today’s post.
“Look to this day!
For it is life, the very life of life.
In its brief course
Lie all the varieties and realities of your existence:
The bliss of growth;
The glory of action;
The splendour of achievement;
For yesterday is but a dream,
And tomorrow is only a vision;
But today, well lived, makes every yesterday
a dream of happiness,
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.”

Addendum: Day 1 personal reflection, “It felt exciting to be beginning my Qigongo practise today. A practise I have been meaning to cultivate for many seasons. The beginning of something special. Lessons I learnt today were to slow down to a pace where I am both doing the exercises as well as being in the experience. I felt some of the movements were completed more rapidly than required. I will be doing my daily reflection and gratitude entry before bedtime. Great evening to all. See you tomorrow!”
