Magento: why complex doesn’t mean good

Hi Salvo,

I am not a developer. But I understand your distaste for Magento. A lot of my developer friends don’t like it either.

But then, it was never developed to be used by a Developer. It was developed for Ecommerce owners to run a digital store with ease. With a massive plugin directory, built in SEO tools and easy to navigate environment makes it easy to use. I have personally used Opencart, Shopify, WooCommerce and of course Magento too. I cam tell you a lot of devs love Opencart and WooCommerce. It’s easier to code and not hard to use either for the merchant. Shopify is a little restrictive but yeah, it’s wicked neat.

However, after playing around with the navigation and most , if not all of the available options in the menu, I feel a merchant would enjoy Magento more.

But, I must say your compilation of Magento’s weaknesses is pretty accurate.
