Brilliant read mate!

This is my two cents worth!

As far as I know, any decision that in the medium term shows you more positive than negative feedback and result is a correct decision.

Of course, this does not hold true in the immediate short term, infact the more negative feedback we get shortly after our decision, the better! Because it gives us headroom to be adaptive and make the needed changes.
