… UX is such a valuable profession. It requires you to take a step back and look at the big picture. When you are making a decision about how something should look or flow, you need to come back to what the user wants, what’s technically feasible and also what the company is trying to achieve.

That is what product managers do. Every day. But. That’s not to say a UX person will not benefit from exercising their business brains. However, this “similarity” makes me wonder if the division of work between the UX and product teams is relevant at all and professionals in the fields should instead start being called “user product managers” or something inclusive of the both disciplines.
