Every movement and demonstration should have a purpose and a goal. Why did occupy Wall Street change nothing? Because they lacked a clear actionable goal. Why have people struggled to understand Black Lives Matter? Because they lack a clear, actionable goal. Why did MLK’s movement work? Because he had a clear goal of ending segregation.

I ask the question of what the march is about because that’s the only way I’ll understand how to help. I’m not a woman, I need help understanding how we can make the world a better place for women.

Please don’t immediately get defensive when someone wants to hear what the women’s march is about. If you want progress out of the government, it has to be something that can be expressed into words and action items. People march because they want to get a message through to the masses.
