Hi Tim — many thanks for putting out the “anchor” on Facebook to have a look here.

As you may know I am working around a similar challenge, and with the current “U.Lab — Transforming Business, Society, and Self” (https://www.edx.org/course/transforming-business-society-self-u-lab-mitx-15-671x) it seems the challenges in the U.S. are not much different to Germany (and Saxony in specifically).

Public participation is -from my point of view- the way to not only tackle the challenges of the future but even more so co-create positive future scenarios in reality. Here in Dresden there is currently (publicly funded by the German government) a competition to involve citizens to envision the future of the city (socially, economically, ecologically, educationally, .. in general all fields of daily life) — #DDzu2030 is the common hashtag on Twitter. I wonder whether that would be an idea to spark new ideas to become reality for IAP2.
