Thanks for being open-minded and patient there, Brian! I know how this can easily be misread as discrediting photography — which it does NOT. Of course what a photographer does is not just a recording process. The point here is that when we draw we should not try to imitate machines but instead be aware of our beautifully complex biological perception. For excellent photographers this is a no-brainer, I suppose, since they know their tools and they know how to use those tools to show us something.
