The Advantages of Working for a Startup

Very convincing arguments, but has anyone looked at the other side of the coin? The person who not only works for a start-up, they are its father, mother and midwife all rolled into one.

They need to grow fast and act even faster, suffering as a rule from decision-making fatigue and choice depletion. On top of that, they can be plagued by anxiety as they are constantly watching new talent joining the crew and then jumping ship as soon as the opportunity arises.

Maybe that’s how it should be: steady on, do not flinch, expect to feel adrift, carry on nevertheless.

The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner. Wonderful short story, by the way. Movie not half bad either.
