I agree 100%, Darren.

Understanding the “why” takes time and human judgment. And since human judgment can’t be cloned at zero marginal cost :-), this becomes the bottleneck link in the chain from data to business-impact.

Acknowledging this inconvenient fact tends to dampen the excitement around big data, and therefore, tends not to be talked about much.
