Hello everyone, if you are reading this post, I am assuming you or someone from your friends is intending to apply to universities for Masters in the United States, or that someone from your friends or relatives is already doing so if then All the Best in your journey.

In this post, we will look at what documents are required during and after applying to institutions for Masters programs in the United States. I have built this post based on my personal experience with my own applications.

The major documents are ,

  1. Consolidated Transcript (Till the recent semester)
  2. Semester-Wise Mark sheets (Till the recent semester)
  3. Passport
  4. Letter of Recommendation (At least from 3 persons either Professors or from work place)
  5. Statement of Purpose (SOP)
  6. Personal Statement (PS)
  7. Resume/ CV
  8. English Proficiency Score (IELTS/TOFEL/DUOLINGO)
  9. Other Entrance Exam Scores (GRE, GMAT etc)
  10. Work Experience Letter (if available)

These are the documents I put to use throughout and after the application process. Although the terms Statement of Purpose and Personal Statement will alter in different University applications, the objective is the same, so have a thorough look before applying.

Tip 1:

Write your Statement of Purpose (SOP) and Personal Statement (PS) yourself, that’s better than asking someone else to write yours. Yes, if you are unaware many people hire someone to write SOPs and PS, and for many people I saw it didn’t turn out to be that good, the grammar was all over the place and good vocabulary was not used. It’s better you send 2–3 weeks to craft your own SOP and PS.

Tip 2:

Give your English Proficiency and other admission examinations ahead of time so that you do not have to rush through the application process.

Tip 3:

While applying, take a thorough look at the documents that are needed to present in the application.

Tip 4:

Shortlist the universities to which you wish to apply in advance, and use a spreadsheet to track your application process.

All set, all the best through your journey. Consider to drop applause and comment.
