All-new Chevrolet Equinox to go on sale by 2017

Chevrolet has unveiled its all-new Equinox for the 2018 model year in an effort to stir up the bland crossover segment. This redesigned and re-engineered crossover features a more spacious cabin with state-of-the-art technology and advanced safety measures. The main USP of the third-generation Equinox is its 1.6 liter turbocharged diesel engine coupled to a new 9-speed automatic transmission system. 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is the first model in North America to introduce a turbo diesel engine in crossover segment, which will set the model apart from its competitors. Chevrolet is offering three engine choices which makes it easier for the consumers to pick and choose — the standard Gasoline-powered turbocharged 1.5 liter LFV inline-four cylinder, Gasoline-powered turbocharged 2.0 liter LTG inline-four cylinder and Diesel-powered turbocharged 1.6 liter inline-four cylinder. The standard 1.5 liter engine, 2.0 liter turbo and diesel engines are coupled with new 9-speed automatic transmission which delivers performance, efficiency and capability. Built with the advanced power trains, all-new Equinox ensures offering an exciting driving experience with higher horsepower and torque. The standard 1.5 liter turbocharged engine offers an estimated horsepower of 170 and highway fuel economy of 31 mpg. The 2.0 liter turbocharged engine creates a horsepower of 252 and highway fuel economy of 28 mpg whereas 1.6 liter turbo-diesel delivers 136 horsepower and 40 mpg highway.

Equinox is loaded with intuitive communication technology and entertainment features. The standard Chevrolet MyLink color touch-screen and built-in OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi let you stay connected on the go. Apple CarPlay Compatibility and Android AutoTM Compatibility deliver pleasant and safer driving experience. Safety is paramount in Chevrolet vehicles and 2018 Equinox is no exception. The new crossover is integrated with a diverse array of safety technologies including low speed forward automatic braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, forward collision alert with following distance indicator, safety alert seat, rear seat reminder, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert and surround vision. The teen driver technology is another key feature of brand new Equinox model that provides in-vehicle report to the parents on how their teen performed while driving.

The latest model of Chevrolet Equinox will be available in four trim levels such as L, LS, LT and Premier and that too in FWD or AWD combinations. The gasoline powered Equinox models will go on sale in early 2017, while the diesel powered variants will be in market by summer 2017. According to the Chevrolet’s official press release, the pricing of this next generation crossover will start at $24,475.
