SSS issues reminder on contribution payment deadline on October 31
State-run Social Security System (SSS) reminded its self-employed, voluntary, and non-working spouse members that October 31, 2023, is the payment deadline for their monthly contributions from July to September 2023.
In an advisory, SSS explained the announcement serves as a reminder to its members so they will not miss paying their SSS premiums following the long weekend in the country this week due to the nationwide Barangay Elections.
SSS clarified that land-based OFW-members are excluded from this payment deadline since the contribution payment deadline for land-based OFW members for January to September of a given year is December 31 of the same year. Meanwhile, contributions for October to December of a given year are on January 31 of the succeeding year.
SSS also noted that members may still make payments on the next working day if the deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday. However, Press Secretary Cheloy Garafil made it clear earlier that Malacañang has no plan to declare October 31, 2023, as a holiday. Hence, the contribution payment deadline for July to September 2023 will remain on October 31, 2023.
Individual paying SSS members can pay their contribution through accredited bank and non-bank collecting partners offering over the counter and online payment options. They can also pay in Automated Tellering System facilities located in selected SSS branches.
