How to make a Gif image using Keynote.
Do read the caption below this annoying advertisement image.

While the debate on pronunciation of the word “Gif” still exists, people assume that making a Gif image is a herculean task. Well, this article is to breakdown this myth and yeah, to give you that few minutes of geeky feeling.
Tools Required:
1. Internet connection
2. Apple’s Keynote Presentation software.
Lets get Started. Open your keynote and select the standard white theme.

This is how your keynote should look after selecting the white theme and removing all text-holders.
Create a text layer by clicking on the text icon and edit the text to
“50% Sale”. Adjust the font size and click on the style tab. Select the type of styling you want.
After selecting the style, click on the animate option on the top right corner .

Select drift and scale from the build in menu, adjust the duration to 2 seconds and switch the Up option to Down.

Click on the file menu and select export to>Quicktime. Click Next button on the dialog box that appears and then export the document.
So to be precise, our presentation has now been converted into a video.
There are numerous ways to convert our video into a Gif image. I prefer using online tools as I find them easier and more easily available. Lets use the tool given in ezgif.com to make our Gif image. Open the webpage and click on the video tab. Upload the file that we exported.

Fix the Starting and Ending time of our Gif image. Keep the Frame rate (FPS) to 20(This panel determines the number of images to be displayed per second. In our case its 20.) Let the method be ffmpeg. Click on the convert to Gif button.

Your output Gif box should somewhat look like the window above.
You can crop the image by using the crop tool found below the output Gif box( the image used in the beginning of the article is a cropped Gif image). Right click on the image and select save image as, your Gif image is now ready.
Explore Keynote and make new Gif images with new timed animations and post them in comments . Happy Giffing !!( yes, i just made that word up)
