Eugenics is one of the most terrifying things to ever exist, because it conflates simple truths with complex lies. A simple truth is that in general, if one breeds a small and large horse, you will get a medium sized horse. That’s a simple truth.
The complex lie is that one or other breed of horse has no value and thus should be destroyed or that if you kill every horse that is born with a lazy eye, you will never have lazy eyes anymore and, furthermore that said horse didn’t have an inherent value.
It’s like the donkey, horse, mule trifecta. For pack work, you can’t get better than a donkey leading a line of mules. Donkeys get a bad rap. They’re extremely cautious and do everything for a reason. As such, if their packs are loaded too heavily they won’t move. If their packs are loose or uneven, they won’t move. If someone tries to force them to traverse ground that they think is dangerous, they won’t move. If they’re exhausted, starved or dehydrated, they won’t move.
But all of that is often seen as simple stubbornness. Bad donkey, bad.
Crossbred with a horse, you have a bigger animal that’s a bit more cautious. I’ve heard a lot of ranchers say that if a mule falls and it has a saddle and pack on it, it will wait for the rider to remove them before trying to get up. Where as a horse will typically panic and likely hurt itself in the effort.
But those simple truths, conflated into complex lies and applied to people with people from a certain “race” determining who has superior and who has inferior genes, nothing good comes from that. Only evil does.
Plus, one massive issue with people is that our DNA is modified in our mothers womb and our character is modified by various hormonal, chemical and nutrient processes that go on.
I must ask, did Ramona go blind? I ask because I know that it’s a common, but not constant, trait of Appaloosas.
Anyways, Trump’s belief that passing on certain genetics is a given is horseshit, it is somewhat predictable on the scale of a 1,000,000 person group, but it sure as hell isn’t for an individual.
