It isn’t for everybody, that’s for sure. The effectiveness of such is dependent upon one’s expertise in writing in what is a singular form and one’s knowledge and understanding. If I analyze my own political writing, I put it at a 3–4 out of 10.

For myself, what has made the world a better place for me has been comedy, typically non-political stuff. That’s one of my goals, of sorts. Writing comedy here is a practice of sorts for me, since at best in that regard I’m 7 out of 10, if that. The audience here is small and generously forgiving to writing that could be much better. It’s a good place to learn.

One thing that I’ve noticed about you Randomly Me is that your political views don’t come out in your general writing, it only comes out when you write about politics specifically. I’m not saying that’s good or bad, it’s unique.

Regarding polite, clean and calm language vs. impolite, dirty and loud language, I don’t use that as any sort of qualifier. Plenty of good and bad stuff is said in the former and latter. I will say that the most vile things I have heard said in person, have been said in a polite, clean and calm manner, ditto for online.

As an example, there was a guy on here that claimed that he was, as a conservative person, on a mission to understand liberal views and expand his horizon. He was always very polite and calm and never used any dirty language. He had shared an article that was about how erroneous the comparisons between Hitler and Trump occurring at the time were. I agreed then as I agree now that Hitler and Trump have almost nothing in common. Hitler had deeply held radical views, which he literally wrote a whole book about, he was an expansionist, he employed intense violence at every stage of his political career and he had a clear and direct objective. Trump doesn’t have any of that, although he has many books published under his name, he didn’t write any of them. They were all ghost written with very little input from him, since, as the authors have detailed, he isn’t capable of staying on subject long enough for the ghost authors to obtain substance for the books.

I responded to the post the guy had made regarding the article, agreed with the general idea of it, not the singular substance of it directly, but the idea and shared an article with him that I thought he would appreciate. Since it was and is the best article that I’ve ever seen comparing the two. You can read the article that I shared bellow:

It’s a very fascinating article, written by an old guy that specialized in studying Hitler, who had refused to write any Hitler vs. Trump articles up to that point because he didn’t believe any comparisons were valid.

His response to reading that article shocked me. I’ve written about this interaction before, see bellow:

I called him out for being an ignorant coward, not for any rudeness in his response. But in light of his telling me that a Jewish historian of Adolf Hitler’s life, who although he didn’t write one article about Trump during the campaign, received holocaust style death threats from Trump supporters during said campaign, was a traitor to the “Jewish Race” for not supporting Trump because Trump supposedly supports Israel.

For me a statement like that can’t stand and my reply to him was far removed from being polite.

I determined his ignorance from his not recognizing reality and his cowardice for not objectively investigating who Trump was preaching to during the campaign. That was it for me.

You can read my very impolite response to the guy at the link bellow:

He highlighted the second line where I called him an ignorant coward, blocked me, then a month or two later he removed his account from Medium. I can’t blame him for the former, I was “mean” to him. I still think that he deserved it and more too, but that’s just me.

I’m intimately familiar with where he was coming from, the belief that all of the press is complicit in a global conspiracy that culminates in the coming of the anti-Christ. That’s the world that I grew up in. So, I know that from his perspective, his conclusions were logical, it’s just that I find them to be abhorrent and potentially extremely dangerous.

Pardon my diatribe here, but language being “good or bad” is kinda a thing for me, since I’ve seen the former portray horrific things that are often dismissed.
