Nature plus Nurture minus Poison

I don’t know that progress, true progress, can be obtained without a clear recognition of the origins of the current issues.

A primary component of said manifesto was his proclamation that he doesn’t believe in anything but nature in regards to how a person turns out in a professional capacity. Those points stuck out to me. Yet, study after study has proven that social and economic influences, which are out of the individuals direct control, have a profound effect upon the totality of a person. Such as, who enters which field and how far they progress in said field.

Thus, the title I used.

As I read through his manifesto, I presumed that the footnote numbers in it would give reference to source studies at the end of it. They did not, they only pointed to more of his opinion.

I don’t know that his being able to speak openly about his beliefs would result in his ability to be educated on the manner. Because white guys have spoken openly about stuff like that for centuries. When I’ve personally brought up studies that prove such ideas as false, in person, they are dismissed as being from a place of “confirmation bias” by the person, just like the author of the manifesto contended. IE. “The only reason that the study shows that, is that the people in that field are liberals, so they made sure that they got the results they wanted to prove their liberal opinions.”

His primary stance was that white guys are, on average, more naturally capable of doing a “tech” job than women or minorities. And that any resources put into “lifting up the inferior” are wasted and should be used in other places.
