You can think of your emotional state and the ability to make good decisions as sitting on opposite sides of a seesaw. If your state of emotional arousal is high, your capacity to decide well is low.

This is critical to remember when negotiating a deal or boxing. Emotion is, in that regard, the greatest enemy to your logic and efficient thought or action. Thus, it behooves one to incite an emotional response in one opponent, be it lust, fear or love, it doesn’t really matter, as long as you remain emotionally removed from the situation.
