Wade is making $23.2 million this year and another $23.8 million next year. For a 35 year old shooting guard with a loooong history of not staying healthy, who can’t space the floor and still thinks he’s a superstar, that’s a bad contract. And at this point, any contract involving Rondo is a bad one.
LeBron wants a backup point guard so there’s someone to run the offense if he or Kyrie gets injured or needs a day off. There are enough cheap vets out there that can fill that role.
