Easy and Healthy Workplace Habits

A major part GON GLOW of the working day is spent at the office yet few of us think about our physical health while we are there. We may not realize it, but even the small details about our work environment and how we adjust to it can help or hinder our health. Here are a few good habits to cultivate at the office while carrying out mundane tasks. They are very easy and it is important to realize that you have a choice to make a difference.
* One of the most important aspects of your work environment is your posture at your desk or workstation. If you have been suffering from back or neck aches, this is the most likely cause.

Adjust your chair so you are sitting straight up with full back support instead of hunched forward over your desk. Your writing and typing surface should be reachable without having to reach out too far forward, up or down. One way to do this is to move your chair closer to the desk and adjust your chair. If your feet are not resting flat on the ground, lower the seat.
* Another major health risk is lighting — make sure the lighting is not too bright or too dim and also make sure that there are no reflections to strain your eyes as you read. Make sure to blink every few minutes to avoid eye dryness, specially if you are mostly at a computer screen.
* Why not take the stairs instead of the elevator? If you are on the third floor or above, get off the elevator a couple of floors below yours and walk up. It’s a great way to start your day and who knows, you may meet someone like-minded.
