Annecy is a high town in southeastern France, where Lake Annecy takes care of into the Thiou River. It’s known for its Vieille Ville (old town), with cobbled roads, winding waterways, and pastel-shaded houses. Sitting above the city, the archaic Château d’Annecy, when home to the Counts of , contains a gallery with territorial curios like Alpine furnishings and strict craftsmanship, in addition to a characteristic history show.

Hints of the Gallo-Roman Boutae have been seen as adjacent. The seat of the counts of Genevois from the tenth century, Annecy was joined to the dukedom of Savoy from 1401 and became significant during the Reformation when the diocesan’s seat was moved there from in 1535 alongside ascetic establishments removed from during the Reformation. St. Francis de Sales was a priest (1602–22) and, with St. Jane Frances Chantal, established the main Convent of the Visitation of the Virgin in Annecy. In 1728 the 16-year-old Jean-Jacques Rousseau took shelter in the city. Annecy, alongside the remainder of Savoy, turned out to be essential for France in 1860.

The old area of the city has arcaded roads that are intertwined with trenches. The travel industry is a monetary pillar. The city’s enterprises incorporate gadgets, sweets, and accuracy instruments. Pop. (1999) 50,348; (2014 est.) 53,285.
