I haven’t written anything in a while, so here’s a quick post about something near and dear to my heart: an intersection between my work and my favourite hobby.

This morning, Twitter released a blog post about new anti-abuse tools being rolled out: specifically, the ability to filter keywords, mute conversations, and a new reporting feature for hate speech.

This is not the kind of post you’re going to expect from me.

If you’re reading this, you’re probably hurt, angry, and terrified. I’ve seen my share of it on social media today. I’m not usually a super compassionate person, but I’ve got an ocean of it right now.

I’m asking this as a friend. Are you OK? Because you made a really confusing decision last night, and I’m concerned.
