Whatsoever things are….

Whatsoever things are true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable — if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise — dwell on these things…Philippians 4:8

We often are so bogged down by what is going on around us, bills needing to be paid, a loved one is called home, people at odds with one another, our country in such conflict, that we tend to forget to stop-pause and think on positive things.

I struggle with this daily. I am at a place in my life where most of the time I feel lonely.

I do know that God is here beside me and He is all I need. But He did say, “It is not good that man be alone,” so He created a partner for Adam. I will assume that He is teaching me something, but to be alone is hard. Now, I’m married and still have my baby girl at home, so I’m not totally alone. My daughter is, like my sister, my closet friend.

My personality type is one that needs people around me. I love to entertain in my home, yet here, where I live, I have no one to entertain. We do not do much of anything outside of come home, work, come home, work, come home, work…… This I believe is not very healthy….but I need not focus on the negative, I do have so much to praise God for.

I sat and ponder this yesterday, this is the scripture that came to me. Finally brothers, whatever is true, True is ethical, “truthfulness.” Whatever is honorable, is “noble,” to be respected. Just is giving people what they deserve. Pure is holy in relation to God. Lovely, means attractive. Commendable is praiseworthy. Excellence refers to moral excellence. Praise is bringing God praise. The God of peace complements “the peace of God” in that life with these characteristics encourages God’s presence.

Verse 6, 7 in Philipians states, “Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus!”

I need to carry these three verses will me everywhere I go, because I’ve been feeling down due to circumstances in my life. Today I will quote these verses over and over and praise our God for just loving and forgiving me. The grace of The Lord is so overwhelming. These will be my thoughts today! Mostly that I am a child of the living God!!! I am truly blessed. Do not let your heart be troubled…..for I am with you, even to the ends of the earth.
