Interaction Design Capstone Project.
I created this prototype called: Good Habits.
In this post I’ll share about my creative process. Starting from Ideation to its prototyping phase.
Ideation and Brainstorming
The idea was born upon observing 3 people that wanted to change certain behavior.
I found that the use of technology can improve or make easier for them to change their behaviour.
One user need i detected was they need something they can access quick and stimulate enough to change their thinking.

Visual Inspiration
After analyzing the people. I started to think in what could be a way to solve the necessity of the users. I looked for inspiration from apps, sites and technology that could be applied to this problem.
The 3 assets that i found that could led me to find a way to solve the problem were:
A bot, an Interactive Calendar and Pinterest.
After that I started drawing ideas of possible scenarios where users would use be using my app.
The Plan and Protoyping
Here I am attaching the last development plan. This plan was updated and edited each week according to the process of the app and A/B and in person user testing.
It was pivotal too to improve the app according to the notes taken in the user testing studies. I also ran studies based in the Heuristic Evaluation Method. You’ll find out how important is to run tests early in the process. This will help you to be agile, not waste time later on and make improvements in an early project state.
The prototypes
Besides the paper and drawings prototypes I’ve created multiple of digital prototypes that helped me to see and test the almost final prototype and keep improving the app.
Conclusion
This capstone project was an in person experience in how an app is created. The past courses prepared me to this last 10 weeks that took me to create this final prototype.
I learned how finding a Need in a User its just the first step to create an app. You need to have a necessity or a problem to solve.
