Ideas Aren’t Cheap, They’re Free

Tina, love your thoughts about ideas. They are the foundation blocks of innovation and the success of our organizations, businesses and communities. I’m curator of TEDxLincoln (that’s in Nebraska) and TED and TEDx events are focused on ideas. What I’ve learned, in addition to the points you made, is that ideas grow out of those opportunities we have to openly take in information (and thus ideas) from a variety of areas and people. When we venture out of our specialized content areas our minds are opened and new ideas enter. That’s why I read a variety of periodicals and books. That’s why I am involved in an eclectic group of activities. That’s why I enjoy TED and TEDx events. I leave you with this suggestion from Matt Ridley. http://www.ted.com/talks/matt_ridley_when_ideas_have_sex
